I had no intentions of adopting or fostering a cat until a friend asked me to catsit while she was out of town. That’s when I met MJ (now called MooMoo) and instantly fell in love.
She was a foster cat at the time and within the first few hours of meeting her, I was amazed at how no one had adopted her. She was curious, playful and so so cheeky, and that is still the case today. She was incredibly social and resilient in a way that dispelled every myth I’d heard about cats. In fact, I loved her so much, I would find excuses to spend more and more time with her and discovered there was no way I was going to forget her.
Adopting Moomoo was probably one of the easiest processes. 9 Lives Cat Rescue made submitting an application, making the necessary payments and organising for the relevant documents incredibly straightforward which meant that I was able to bring MooMoo home a week after catsitting her.
Since adopting Moomoo, she has been by my side through everything including two house moves and countless late nights spent studying. Sometimes I think she can understand me but pretends like she can’t speak back. She loves napping in the sun, chasing string toys around the house and her food. She is my friend and my companion through everything.
I’m not exaggerating when I say that adopting her has been the best decision of my life. If you’re looking for a sign to adopt a cat, consider this it – you won’t regret it!
